I remember a story from when I was growing up from a pastor that was very close to WMB.

The topic of salvation was being discussed in private, which let to a few other things, but finally ended up to the point that all it took was faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. WMB got a very serious look on his face, leaned over to this pastor, and said, "shhhhhhh! Don't you tell anyone that!"

This moment in time had a large impact on this pastor (though being young, I never understood what that impact actually was. I just remember the scene as it was described.)

When you stop and think about this, it's true. It only takes faith in Jesus Christ!

Quote:
For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God (Eph 2:8)

The strange part of this story, now that I'm reading the Bible through my own eyes instead of some man from the past, is the "shhhhhhh" part of it! It's quite a difference from:

Quote:
That which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. (Luke 12)

This is very interesting...considering the fact that I do not believe that accepting Christ as your personal lord and saviour was ever mentioned in the message church that I attended. The reason why??? I believe that the focus was to be placed onto Brahnam himself. The message church lifts his name up higher than Christ...pretty sad if you ask me. The bible clearly states in Romans 3:10 No one is righteous, no not one! Only Christ came and lived a perfect life!! And only through Christ's blood can we be saved...Jesus made it clear that NO one gets to the father except through him. Pretty powerful stuff!! Its fairly clear that there are two paths that an individual can choose to take a broad path that leads to worldly things and destruction or a straight and narrow path that leads to eternal life...message believers which path have you chosen??
