Only one addition to that, from what I am reading, the Trinity was not something newly introduced at the Nicene Council. WMB taught that it was the pagans brining this into the church at the Nicene council, but many believers already were teaching it for the same reasons you mention.

I also can't think of a better way to make God greater than our minds can comprehend. As humans, we "try to figure things out", and we should not be able to "figure out" God. To think that a human can understand God lessons God in the human's mind.

My problem with WMB is that he tried to explain God -- and in doing so made God less than He really is.
Even more than that, his explanations seem tailor made to point people to believe that HE embodied the same God, so when I contrast that "point" to the lies and deceit it becomes very nearly blasphemous.

That is the big problem. WMB dodges and weaves along that border all thru his messages, especially the last 5-6 years. The last WMB tape I heard in church was "Who do you say this is?" and it was a clincher for me. He is not the savior of this age or any other.

Just a quick thought...

Act 17:11
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

I must admit... I bet there are doctrines that I heard when I became a Christian a long time ago that I didn't do this with. I bet there are doctrines that "I accept" now that I haven't done this with. I have been studying some basics by looking at the bible recently and I find it fascinating to be honest.

Just a thought... :)
